How to connect a device to view my TV content?

Fizz is currently in a BETA test period for its TV service in Quebec. As a result of this BETA test period, some of the TV services may be affected and/or limited.

  1. Compatible devices

    The app is available on Google Play, the App Store, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. It can also be downloaded directly onto a compatible smart TV. 

    Good to know: Any device you use that is compatible with Fizz TV must have its region/location set to Canada.
    It is important to set the location to Canada on your streaming device too.

    Note: If your smart TV is not yet compatible with Fizz TV app, you have the option to connect a streaming device like Apple TV or Amazon Fire Stick to your TV to enjoy the service.

  1. To connect a device

    STEP 1 - Download and install the Fizz TV app on your device.  
     

    Make sure your TV plan is live and your device connected to your Fizz Home Internet network, and not to a VPN or public Internet. 

    Search for the Fizz TV app on your device, download it and install it. If in doubt, refer to the instructions for your device.

    STEP 2 - Launch the Fizz TV app on your device.  
     

    The welcome screen will show a QR code and an activation code.  

    • To use the QR code: Use the camera on your mobile phone to scan it and then follow the instructions.  

    • To use the activation code: Use your mobile phone and go to https://auth.fizz.ca/activate. Log in to your Fizz.ca account and enter that activation code. 


    Once the initial set up is done and your device connected to your TV plan, you can use that device to access and watch the channels you chose as part of your Fizz TV plan. No need to reconnect it.  

  1. To disconnect a device

    To disconnect a device from your TV plan, log in to your Fizz.ca account and go to My plans > Manage my plan > My devices

  1. How to cast to your smart TV

    Using the Fizz TV app on your mobile device, you can cast your content to your smart TV.  
     

    To cast using Google and an Android mobile device: 

    1. Connect your mobile device to the same local network as your Android TV. 

    1. While watching content on your mobile device, select the Cast icon in the top right corner of the screen.  

    1. Select the desired device from the list (in other words, your Android TV). 

    1. Content will begin playback on the selected device. 

    1. Select the cast icon again on your mobile device to cease casting or use the player controls to stop playback. 
       

    To cast using AirPlay and an Apple mobile device: 

    1. Connect your Apple mobile device (iPhone/iPad) to the same local network as your Apple TV device.  

    1. While watching content on your mobile device, select the AirPlay icon in the top right corner of the screen. 

    1. Select the desired device from the list to AirPlay content on.  

    1. Content will begin playback on the selected device. 

    1. Select the AirPlay icon again on your mobile device to cease AirPlay, or use the player controls to stop playback.
